My name is Jelle van Dijk. I have been interested in many - not necessarily related - topics throughout the years. *) For years I wanted to go and study Industrial Design. I decided against it, leaving me in a state of crisis. I found a home in Cognitive Science, my field. But, interestingly, recently I have found my way back to the design community and I am now doing a Phd within the department of Industrial Design.

About the blog’s name

I’m based in the Netherlands but I didn’t want a .nl domain name because I think it is rather useless to have countries in cyberspace. I didn’t want .com either because I am not a company (although I do seem to have put on a portfolio of artwork that might interest somebody somehow). So I decided to take this blog to be an organization, in the systemic sense of the word, just like the mind is some organization of sorts, and given my interests in the embodiment of mind I should stick to my guns and state that the whole blog as such is no less than a genuine part of my mind, my mind being an organized system of brain, body, and blog. If you care to believe in such things, of course. But this means that if you are reading this blog and commenting in it, or even if I have you ‘in mind’ while writing it, you yourself have become part of the whole brain-body-blog shebang as well. This is what OWYCBP means, in the blog’s header: Jellevandijk.org, an organization ‘of which you can be part’.
