My name is Jelle van Dijk. I have been interested in many - not necessarily related - topics throughout the years. Those that have lasted (and therefore seem to embody some essential properties which one apparently should consider to be typical of me), I have listed here below, ‘in order of appearance’:Utrecht (1975), laughing (1976) talking (1977), drawing (1978), reading (1979), writing (1980), collecting comic books (1983), acting (1987), science (1988), arts (1988), industrial design (1988/2008*) singing (1990),  psychology (1994), cognitive science (1995), Mirjam (1996) situated cognition (1998), learning & development (2000), teaching (2000), human-artifact interaction (2003), participatory design (2004), Jonas (2005), tangible cognition (2006)

*) For years I wanted to go and study Industrial Design. I decided against it somewhere in highschool, leaving me in a state of crisis: what to do after graduating? Cognitive Science is my area now and I still feel part of that community. But lo and behold: presently I am preparing a research project in collaboration with… a department of industrial design!
